Guest Blogging Guidelines

We have started to receive requests to allow guest bloggers to post informative articles about outdoor sports on our blog.  Starting today we will be accepting guest blog posts related to outdoor sports, but we want to lay down some guidelines for you.

Since we know the way many bloggers think, we are setting these guidelines and asking you to follow them. Failure to do so will result in us rejecting your post. We reserve the right to not publish a post if the quality is not up to par with the other posts on our blog.

Your posts must be focused on outdoor backcountry sports. If your post is really just an advertisement for your own blog or product, it will most likely be rejected. You are welcome to include links back to your site or other sites as long as they add value to the article. We rarely remove links, but reserve the right to do so.

  • Your post must be original content, not published anywhere else
  • You must not publish the content elsewhere on the Internet once it is published on our site.
  • You are not required to send an image

Having an image for the sake of having an image is a waste of time because it does not make the post look any more professional. However, if you are talking about something that an image will help, by all means include it.

We will proof your post for grammatical errors and facts. If the grammar is poor, we will not post. We rarely make changes to a post, but if we do you may not be notified. We will let you know if you article is published and send you a link when it goes live.

Once you have an idea and are interested to post, please contact us at Once approved, take the time to write your guest post and make it awesome.

I love sharing the outdoors and that is why Backcountry Secrets is my full-time hobby.

I only wish it was my full-time job.  I hope you have benefited from the information you have found on our site today.
