4.5 mile path that traverses the old tow-path used to pull barges along the Windsor Locks canal. The path is never short of beautiful views of the river, and there are benches for a quick break. The path is paved and tends to absorb the heat in the summer, so be sure to bring water. Bring pets in the early morning or later in the day, but bear in mind that the trail closes at sundown.

The path is generally wide enough to allow for mountain biking, so long as you keep an eye out for pedestrians. Since the path is along the river be prepared for gnats in the mid-summer, but all in all a pleasant ride. Keep an eye out for the aqueduct traversing Stony Brook, and the train tracks going over the path around the halfway point.
