Lots of trails that criss-cross the park make it perfect for hiking. Hiking trails are very easy grade and can be done barefoot or in tevas unless it's rainy then mud-boots would be required as some areas can get quite muddy.

With an abundance of wildlife in the park - be sure to check trails for footprints from such things as deer, coyotes, foxes, opossums, and raccoons.

The park is small enough that you can navigate the trails without worrying too much about getting lost, but desolate enough you won't often run into other hikers.

There are several small waterways that run through the park which would be great for beginner canoers. Some of the water gets very shallow during the summer months so be careful and / or expect to run aground and have to portage a little bit.

There is an abundance of wildlife in the park such as coyotes, foxes, deer, and raccoons. You may see some during your canoe trip.

The best time to canoe the park would be late spring after the winter thaw.

The park in winter is a good size and has lots of hills and trails and often times very deep snow.

With an abundance of wildlife such as deer, coyotes, foxes, and other wild-life be sure to check the snow for footprints during your trip.

There are great cross-country ski opportunities for this park
