From Idaho Falls go east on Hwy 26 towards Ririe. Turn left at the turn marked Heise Hot Springs. Follow the signs to Heise and go past Heise about 1/2 mile.

Elephant Rock is near Heise Hot Springs and Kelly Canyon Ski Resort. It is a small rock, but has climbs ranging from 5.6 to 5.13.

This is on private property so be respectful! There is a sign that says permission can be obtained at the RV Park.

Elephant Rock is a great place to do some social climbing. It is a giant boulder in an empty field. So your belay station is flat. I bring my kid and set up his play pen and do some climbing.
Most of it is bolted. You can lead or set up sweet top roped routes. Traversing the whole side of the rock is a great work out.

Rock Climbing at Elephant Rock is great. There are often lots of other people there and this is a great place for beginner to get some rock climbing advice. There is an open grass field to put your climbing gear together on. Lots of routes and most a bolted. Elephant Rock is overall just a fun place to climb. You can stop for pizza on the way home at the Heise Pizza place.
