Highbanks Metro Park Ohio

The Dripping Rock Trail is one of two great hiking trails offered at Highbanks. This one is a gravel 2.5-mile moderate to difficult trail. To access it, you can park at one of the lots off the main entrance. The closest one is the lot at the Nature Center. The Dripping Rock Trail primarily winds through the forest and will also take you to the Adena Mound.
The other hiking trail is the Overlook Trail which is a gravel 2.3 moderate to difficult trail. It winds through the Edward F. Hutchins State Nature Preserve. You can access this trail from the Dripping Rock Trail. The Overlook Trail leads to an observation deck that is 100 feet above the Olentangy River. On this trail you will also see some gravestones from the Pool family and the Prehistoric Earthworks can be found right before the observation deck.

Cross-country skiing is permitted on the Coyote Run Trail. This is a 3.5-mile moderate trail that passes through forests, fields, and meadows. It is a winding trail that will go in three full loops. To access the trail you will need to park in the lot near the nature center that is off the main entrance and head onto the Dripping Rock Trail.
