Backcountry Skiing Locations

Backcountry skiing is skiing in a sparsely inhabited rural region over ungroomed and unmarked slopes. Backcountry skiing can be highly dangerous due to the avalanche risk, the exhaustion from the climb, and the often steep terrain involved. Other hazards include cliff or rock hazards and tree wells. Backcountry skiing can involve multi-day trips through snow camping or the use of mountain huts where available. Remember to use the buddy system and avalanche beacons. You do not want your next trip to be your last. This section of Backcountry Secrets contains our list of all backcountry skiing locations that have been shared by our members.
