This is a gentile hike that provides a good look of the South Fork of the Snake River during the summer and awesome color in the fall.

The first part of the trail is up a very gentle grade. The trail to the lower overlook is very gentle. The upper loop of the trail is less developed.

The trail was repaired and upgraded in 2003, to make the lower area handicap accessible. There are also restrooms at the beginning of the trail.

Hiking & Backpacking Reviews for Cress Creek Nature Trail Idaho
Not a very long trail (1.5 miles) and really easy. Great for kids. We saws lots of mule deer and even a mountain bluebird.

This is a good trail to take scouts on to do the Environmental Science merit badge. Lots of wildlife and plants to observe.

This is a decent mild hike to take if you have a partial day you want to spend hiking. The trail is well maintained, many lower parts being paved. My kids did fine on it and it is best if you let them play in the creek. I'd recommend doing it early or late in the day during the summer months as it is south facing for the most part, and there is scattered shade. There is a good restroom and water access at the parking area before you start the hike.
