From the junction on the lower loop that heads to West Yellowstone, head South about 1/2 mile. Turn right on the Firehole Canyon drive. You can't miss the swimming area once on the drive.

This is a nice swimming hole area. The water is heated (not tons though) by runoff from hot springs and geysers.

There are some smaller rapids just up river from the actually swimming hole area that are fun to get in and float down stream from. There is also a small cave across the river from where you park that is "an adventure" for kids.

Best time of year to visit this spot is late July into early August because of the warm summer months.
