From Autobahn A2, take the Wörthersee-Südufer-Strasse exit and go south (the only possible direction) to Villacher Strasse, which is the first intersection, and turn right (west). Get into the left lane immediately, as you will need to follow signs to Europapark. Turn left onto Friedelstrand and follow it into the parking lot. Walk west to get to the water.

A favourite swimming spot for both locals and tourists, but generally not so crowded as to make a mess of the whole experience. Wörthersee is a relatively small lake, which means it heats up nicely by mid-summer and stays that way through early fall. Just a beautiful valley of the Alps to enjoy with a swim. (Passenger boats operate on the lake in summer; however, the number of private speed boats is limited in order to limit the environmental impact and the hazard to swimmers.)
