Fantastic views of Vail Lake and surrounding mountains to the north. Santa Rosa Plateau can be seen to the west. This is not a hike for beginners and you should already be in good shape for this hike. Bring plenty of water as there are usually no water souces along this trail. Best times for hiking are Spring/Fall.
Summer hiking can be brutal because of the heat.
For a longer hike, take the Palomar/MgGee trail at top of Dripping Springs Trail to make a loop hike of approx 23 miles. Sometimes referred to as the "Agua Tibia Superloop".
Trail is not highly used due to it's remoteness, so you can expect some quiet, secluded hiking on most days out.
