Take Hwy 69 South from Mineola. About 1/4 mile out of town look for exit to the nature preserve with a sign on the left. Follow exit and then look for sign marking road to the right to turn off onto. Take this small county road back about 1 mile to the entrance to the nature preserve, which is on the right.

Hours of operation are from 7:00 a.m. until sunset during the summer, 7:00 p.m. in winter. Trail consists of paved starting point, then tracks back into the woods on an old railroad track line. Total round trip is 4.1 miles down to the creek and back. Distance is marked and there are several rest areas and picturesque stopping points along the trail. Total preserve area is over 3,000 acres. Restrooms are available near the entrance, as well as a large pavilion and playground area.
