From Boise take the Gowen Rd exit and turn east. Gowen turns into Highway 21 and continues up through the canyon. After about 5.3 miles, from the freeway, there is a turnoff on the right with a sign indicating sandy point.

A 34-acre site at the foot of Lucky Peak Dam, located nine miles east of Boise along Highway 21. If you like fun in the sun, Sandy Point Beach is the place for you and the family. This area offers grass, charcoal grills, picnic tables, shade trees, and a snack bar, all within walking distance of Sandy Point Beach, Lucky Peak Reservoir and Discovery Unit.
