Green Mountain Nature Trail is near Huntsville Alabama in Madison County. The trail is the perfect place to enjoy nature. The park/trail features a 2 1/4 mile trail around a 16-acre lake, with wooded paths, a picnic pavillion, an historic chapel, covered bridge and a Braille Trail.

The trail is open every day from sunrise to sunset, and offers tables for picnics. The is an abundance of plants and wildlife for all.

On the north side of the lake along the walking trail, you will come upon the original cabin of Charles Green, my G-G-G-G-Grandfather, the homesteader that Green Mountain was named after. The plaque on the cabin tells the story of this man and how he came to live on Green Mountain.
