Buck Creek State Park's public beach features 2400 feet of sand. Vending machines are available in the state park for getting some snacks, but I recommend bringing a picnic lunch as there are numerous places to have a nice picnic at the park and the vending machines are not really close to the beach.

The beach is really quite family friendly and alcohol is not allowed in the park.

The state has brought in some nicer sand in the past few years to make the beach a lot more comfortable to walk on. Flotation devices like inner tubes are not allowed in the swimming area.

I recommend bringing flip flops or swimming shoes for the walk from the parking lot to the beach. It is a little long for bare feet.

The swimming area is open daily from sun up to sun down. Restrooms are nearby and include an outdoor shower for washing sand off. Overall this is a great place to cool down for free on hot summer days.
