The Lochsa Lower Run has nine miles of class III-IV rapids when river is running 0'-10'. The river runs next to the road so you can watch or put-in and pull-out from many locations if necessary.
The Lochsa rates as one of the best Idaho whitewater runs. The rapids are full of big waves, big holes, and house-size boulders. The streambed is wide and there is at least one clean line through every rapid.
The Lochsa offers kayakers some great surfing and more than 20 class III-IV rapids. Rafters will enjoy the big waves and recovery pools. The stand out rapids start about four miles down with House Wave. From there just be ready for lots of big water.
